Nanjing Olympic Suning Tower, Mixed-use skyscraper in Nanjing, China.
The Nanjing Olympic Suning Tower is a 99-floor skyscraper in Nanjing, China, rising to about 420 meters (1,380 feet) with a smooth glass facade and curved architectural lines. It combines residential apartments, a hotel, and office floors within the same structure.
Construction started in 2011 and was then suspended for several years before work resumed in 2020. The Suning Real Estate Group led the project through to its completion.
The tower sits next to the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre, one of the city's largest stadiums, making it a clear landmark along the surrounding boulevard. The neighborhood around it is built for movement and events, with wide open plazas and a pace that picks up on game days.
The building has 46 elevators to move people between floors without long waits. Those visiting the hotel or public areas will find the interior laid out in a way that makes getting around straightforward.
The tower was designed by Helmut Jahn, a German-American architect known for pushing the boundaries of glass and steel design. The wind engineering and exterior lighting were each handled by separate specialist firms, a level of technical collaboration that is not always visible from the outside but shapes every detail of how the building stands and looks at night.
