Die Glocke, Art Deco concert hall in Dominsel, Bremen, Germany
Die Glocke is a concert venue in Bremen's city center featuring dark brick construction with stepped gable design facing Domsheide. The building's distinctive windows and bay sections define the streetscape near the cathedral quarter.
The building was constructed in 1928 on medieval foundations of a former chapter house that had served as a meeting and court venue since the 1600s. The new structure replaced that historic site with modern concert hall design from the interwar period.
The concert venue hosts classical performances, jazz concerts, cabaret shows, drama productions, lectures, and special events for families throughout the year.
The main hall accommodates around 1,400 guests while a smaller hall holds about 400 people and serves multiple event formats. The location at Domsheide is easy to reach on foot from the station or marketplace.
Inside stands a Wilhelm Sauer organ from 1928 featuring 76 registers and four manuals, restored through comprehensive work in 2008. This instrument represents the craftsmanship and musical quality of its era.
