The Verkehrsturm at Domsheide is an octagonal red brick structure distinguished by large round-arched windows set into its walls. The building rises from a square base and occupies a prominent position within the transportation intersection.
The tower was constructed in 1988 to regulate traffic operations for Bremen Straßenbahn AG. It later transitioned to storage use before receiving protected monument status in 2019.
The tower carries the artistic signature of Danish artist Per Kirkeby, who merged art and practical function in a single structure. Visitors can observe how a purely functional building also reads as a sculptural work.
