Eberswalde Familiengarten, Family park in Eberswalde, Germany.
Eberswalde Familiengarten is a park in Eberswalde, Brandenburg, with play structures, themed garden sections, and open recreational spaces linked by winding pathways. The grounds are divided into distinct zones, making it a place suited for families, nature walks, and leisurely outings.
The park grew out of a 2002 State Garden Show that turned former industrial land into a public recreation area. Parts of the site's manufacturing past, spanning roughly 300 years, were kept and worked into the new layout.
The park has themed areas built around fairy tale figures, including a Baba-Yaga house and an enchanted forest section that bring old Eastern European stories into the landscape. Walking through these parts feels like stepping into a story rather than a garden.
The park is easy to explore on foot, and signs at the entrances help with orientation across the large grounds. Visiting with children works best when enough time is set aside to move through the different zones without rushing.
Beneath the park runs an underground waterway where visitors can paddle small boats through the site's hidden subsurface. This makes for an unusual outing that most people do not expect to find inside a garden park.
