St.-Martini-Kirche, Protected cultural heritage church in Burglesum, Germany
The St. Martini Church stands near the Weser River, featuring late-Gothic brick architecture with tall windows and detailed stone carvings throughout its structure.
Founded in 1229, the church underwent reconstruction after severe damage in 1944 during World War II and was completely restored by 1960.
The church displays stained glass windows created by Bremen artist Elisabeth Steineke and coat of arms windows by Danish artist Werner Rohde.
The congregation holds weekly Sunday services at 10:00 AM and provides audio streaming services for those unable to attend in person.
The church foundation rests on oak pilings that were affected by groundwater changes following the Weser River regulation project between 1881 and 1892.
