St. Urbanus

St. Urbanus demonstrates traditional North German architecture with a prominent west tower constructed from fieldstone and brick materials.

The church site contains two previous structures, including a wooden church and a tuff stone building constructed around 1100.

The late Gothic ceiling paintings in the choir vault depict the Last Judgment with Christ figure and Mary and John seated on a rainbow.

The baptismal font from the early 13th century features head consoles and tendrils crafted from Belgian marble.
