Weserspucker, Bronze sculpture in Bäckerstraße, Minden, Germany
The Weserspucker is a bronze figure in central Minden that actively spouts water from its mouth. The work stands at the corner of Bäckerstraße and Scharn and measures about 1.20 meters tall.
The bronze figure was created by sculptor Theodor Henke from Bad Oeynhausen and installed in 1978 as a donation from the Max Weidenfeller company. In November 2014, it was moved to its current location during a city center renovation.
The figure spouts water from its mouth and is often touched by passersby, making it a favorite gathering point. This playful function has turned it into a familiar part of city life where people naturally meet.
The monument is located right at the corner of Bäckerstraße and Scharn in the heart of the city center, easy to reach from various directions. The location is openly accessible and the water fountain runs regularly, so a visit is possible at any time of day.
The water function operates through an underground system that continuously circulates water, something many visitors do not notice. This hidden mechanism turns the seemingly simple action of water-spouting into a small technical marvel.
