The Stadttheater Minden features a Baroque Revival architectural design with a seating capacity of 568 across multiple levels within its structured interior.
Architects August Kersten from Minden and Paul Kanold from Berlin constructed the theatre between 1906 and 1908, opening with Goethe's Iphigenie auf Tauris.
The theatre collaborates with Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie and Richard-Wagner-Verband Minden to present Wagner operas, including complete Ring cycle performances.
The venue functions without a permanent ensemble, instead combining its own productions with guest performances throughout the theatrical season.
From 2015 to 2019, the theatre accomplished the remarkable feat of staging Wagner's complete Ring cycle, receiving recognition comparable to Bayreuth Festival productions.
