Tier-, Freizeit- und Saurierpark Germendorf, Animal and dinosaur park in Oranienburg, Germany
Tier-, Freizeit- und Saurierpark Germendorf is a recreational area in Oranienburg built on the site of former gravel pits, displaying native and exotic animals alongside life-sized dinosaur models. More than four kilometers (about 2.5 miles) of paths wind through the grounds, guiding visitors past animal enclosures, play areas and reconstructed prehistoric giants.
Horst Eichholz converted an abandoned quarry into this recreational site and began gradually building the present facilities. Since its founding, the area has grown continuously with new sections and attractions added over time.
The facility brings together wildlife observation and playful elements, drawing families who explore local species alongside prehistoric replicas. Regular meetings by groups dedicated to protecting small mammals take place here, reinforcing the park's role as a place for exchange and conservation.
The grounds stay open all year and offer ample room for walks without requiring reservations. Children under two enter for free, while adults pay an admission fee of 7 euros.
Two islands in the middle of a large lake serve as stations for beach volleyball and fishing, flanked by climbing rocks along the shore. This combination of water sports and climbing options makes the grounds a varied destination beyond the animal enclosures.
