Glindow Brickworks Museum, Industrial heritage museum in Werder (Havel), Germany.
The Glindow Brickworks Museum preserves the production facilities of a brick factory with original kilns, drying areas, and work equipment arranged as they were used. The remaining buildings show how the entire process was organized across the site.
The brickworks operated for centuries, supplying construction materials as Berlin and Brandenburg expanded and developed. Following German reunification, the facility was converted into a museum in 1993 to preserve this industrial heritage for future generations.
The site reflects centuries of craft traditions that shaped generations of workers and built the region's identity. Visitors can understand how this labor was fundamental to the area's growth and development.
The museum is best visited from May through October when it opens on multiple days throughout the week. The site covers a large area, so wearing comfortable shoes and allowing plenty of time to explore helps you see everything properly.
The Hoffmann ring kiln is the centerpiece and represents a rare design where fire moved continuously through multiple chambers in a circular pattern. This innovation made production more efficient and reduced fuel consumption, making it a breakthrough in manufacturing technology.
