Neckarsulm, Industrial town at Neckar and Sulm rivers junction, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Neckarsulm sits where the Sulm River meets the Neckar, with vineyards climbing forested slopes on both sides of the valley. The town spreads between the riverbanks and gentle hills, with older neighborhoods closer to the water and newer residential areas extending toward the surrounding heights.
Archaeologists discovered a Late Bronze Age burial ground here in 2001, dating back to around 1100 BC. Centuries later, the Teutonic Order built a castle that served as an administrative seat from 1545 onward and now houses the two-wheeler museum.
The German Two-Wheeler and NSU Museum exhibits motorcycles and riding cars inside a medieval Teutonic Order Castle dating from 1545.
The old center and castle grounds are walkable, while industrial sites lie farther out. Paths along the rivers offer flat walks, while routes up to the vineyards grow steeper and call for sturdy shoes.
The former NSU factory now produces Audi A6, A7, and A8 models on the same grounds. Visitors sometimes spot prototypes on test drives through the surrounding country roads before these cars are officially introduced.
