Lohrberg

Lohrberg is a mountain summit in the Siebengebirge range near Königswinter, distinguished by steep, forest-covered slopes and a rocky structure made of trachyte. The terrain remains largely natural with multiple access routes leading toward the peak.

The mountain formed millions of years ago through volcanic activity and developed as part of the larger Siebengebirge formation. This geological history demonstrates the region's ancient earth-building processes.

The name Lohrberg comes from Old High German 'Loh', referring to the dense forests that define the mountain's character. Visitors today experience this heavily wooded landscape that shapes the place's appearance.

Multiple hiking paths lead up the mountain, with routes varying in difficulty. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and allow adequate time since the climb can be demanding.

The rock of this mountain contains sanidine crystals that are larger than those found in neighboring peaks of the region. These mineral features make it notable for those interested in geology and rock formations.
