Schloss Burgjoß, Medieval castle in Burgjoß, Germany.

The castle features a rounded tower and parts of an oval ring wall, with main buildings dating from the Renaissance period.

The original wooden structure from the 12th century was replaced with a sandstone castle around 1160, serving to control an ancient road.

The castle transformed from a medieval fortress to a Renaissance administrative center under Elector Daniel Brendel of Homburg in 1573.

The castle grounds include the Burgwiesenpark garden, which has been integrated into the community since 1973 for public access.

The castle operated as a Ganerbenburg after 1367, with ownership divided among multiple noble families including the Lords of Hutten and Counts of Hanau.
