Furesø, Freshwater lake in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, Denmark
Furesø stretches across 941 hectares with clear waters reaching depths of 37.7 meters, making it the deepest lake in Denmark.
The Frederiksdal Pavilion, constructed in the 18th century by architect Nicolai Eigtved, stands as a testament to Danish architectural heritage near the lake.
The lake inspired Christian Winther's poem 'Flyv fugl, flyv over Furesøens vand' during his time as a teacher at the Fuglesang country house.
Visitors can access the lake via a 30-minute drive from Copenhagen or by taking the B-Train to Farum Station followed by a 20-minute walk.
The lake connects to Farum Lake through the Fiskebaek stream and maintains three primary water sources: Fiskebæk, Dumpedalsrenden, and Vejlesø Kanal.
