Gyldenholm Manor

Gyldenholm Manor is a manor house in Slagelse Municipality with red brick walls, yellow ornamental details, and a two-story crenellated tower on its front facade. The estate includes extensive agricultural fields, woodlands, and additional buildings that form a complete working property.

The design dates from 1864, created by architect Johan Daniel Herholdt, built on land acquired from the dissolution of a cavalry estate from the 1770s. The de Neergaard family acquired the property in the 1860s and has maintained continuous ownership and management ever since.

The interior features decorative work by artists Georg Hilker and Constantin Hansen, whose craftsmanship shaped the rooms and halls throughout the structure. These artistic details remain visible today and give the spaces their distinctive character.

The grounds are surrounded by wooded areas and accessible via several approach roads from nearby towns. Keep in mind that this is a private estate, so access to the interior and grounds may be restricted.

The manor was designed by prominent architect Johan Daniel Herholdt, who shaped many significant Danish buildings of his era. His architectural approach blended traditional forms with the fresh design ideas of the mid-1800s.
