Gulliver park, Interactive playground in Turia Gardens, Valencia, Spain.
Gulliver Park is an interactive playground in the Turia Gardens of Valencia, Spain, with a giant lying figure as its central element. The figure measures seventy meters long and nine meters tall and is equipped with slides, stairs and climbing ropes.
The playground was created as part of the project to transform the former riverbed of the Turia after its diversion. The gardens were gradually developed into a recreation area and this park complements the green spaces along the route.
The name comes from Jonathan Swift's famous novel about a traveler in a land of tiny people. Children climb through hair, over arms and along clothing folds of the large figure and feel like miniature Lilliputians.
The area is open daily from ten in the morning until eight in the evening and admission is free. Visitors should bring comfortable shoes as surfaces vary in texture and children have lots of movement.
The entire structure has an integrated drainage system within the shape of the figure. This solution combines play fun with practical water management for the surrounding terrain.
