Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, Soria

The hermitage stands outside the medieval city walls, near Cervantes Alameda, featuring pointed arch vaults and an 18th-century bell tower.

The initial construction began in 1552 by the Vera Cruz Brotherhood, with later expansions funded by the Counts of Gomara during the 16th century.

The interior houses a 16th-century statue of the Virgin of Solitude, notable for its representation of deep sorrow and traditional attire.

Visitors can access the hermitage through twin gates from Plaza Mariano Granados, following paths among century-old trees in the garden.

During Holy Week, the Virgin statue participates in the Procession of Silence without the Christ figure, representing her solitude.
