Tuc de Campsaure

Tuc de Campsaure is a mountain summit located on the France-Spain border in the Pyrenees, composed of metamorphic rock formations. Its position marks the natural boundary between Es Bòrdes and Bagnères-de-Luchon.

This summit has long served as a natural boundary marker between French and Spanish territories. Its location shaped the development and way of life in the surrounding mountain communities over centuries.

The name Tuc de Campsaure comes from the Occitan language spoken in the Pyrenees. This shared linguistic tradition connects communities across the border.

The ascent is best reached from Hospice de France and requires good hiking experience and sturdy footwear. Starting early and checking weather conditions is wise, as conditions at altitude can change quickly.

The mountain exhibits a topographic isolation of 0.53 kilometers and features a prominence of 33 meters, making it a distinct landmark in the Artiga de Lin protected area.
