Mercado Metálico, Metal market in Plaza Alta, Badajoz, Spain.

The rectangular building contains three spacious halls separated by cast iron columns with natural lighting through its ceiling windows.

The market opened in 1899 and operated until 1975, when it was dismantled and relocated to the University of Extremadura campus.

The building exhibits metal architecture of the late 19th century, incorporating shields of Castile, León, and Badajoz in circular medallions.

Granite staircases lead to the entrance, while the building features a basement that extends throughout its entire floor plan.

The market structure combines granite and exposed brick walls with metal enclosures, featuring large vertical windows and semicircular arches.
