Jardin de Saint-Georges

Jardin de Saint-Georges is a formal garden occupying roughly 0.8 hectares with French-style flowerbeds laid out in geometric patterns in Rennes. The beds face a 17th-century palace structure, creating an ordered layout typical of classical garden design.

Architect Pierre Corbineau designed this garden at the request of Abbess Magdelaine de La Fayette in the 17th century. The abbess's name inscribed on the facade serves as a reminder of her role in establishing this formal space.

The garden's seasonal flower displays create a changing character throughout the year, shaping how visitors experience the space. These rotating plantings form part of daily life near the Museum of Fine Arts.
