Aller and Beer Woods, Protected woodland in Somerset, England
The 56.9-hectare woodland extends along the west-facing slope of Aller Hill, providing views over King's Sedgemoor and containing numerous plant species.
The woodland, designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1952, operated under traditional coppice management practices for several centuries.
The preservation of this woodland reflects British commitment to maintaining natural heritage sites through scientific research and environmental protection measures.
Located 3.5 kilometers northwest of Langport, visitors can access the woods from the A372 road connecting Othery to Langport.
The woodland contains rare plant species including purple gromwell, which is listed in the Red Data Book of threatened species.
