Chesters estate, Category A listed country house in Ancrum, Scotland.

Chesters estate spans 1,565 acres along the River Teviot, featuring a Palladian mansion with a two-storey seven-bay block and small flanking pavilions.

Thomas Elliott Ogilvie purchased the estate in 1787 following his Indian Civil Service career, commissioning architect William Elliot to construct the house in 1790.

The estate includes a central hall leading to proportioned rooms, complete with a substantial stable court and walled garden matching the architectural style.

The property stands 2 miles southwest of Ancrum and 2.5 miles west northwest of Jedburgh, approximately 90 minutes from both Edinburgh and Newcastle.

A microbrewery operates within the estate grounds, while visitors can stay in safari-style tents equipped with proper mattresses and private hot tubs.
