Braichgoch Slate Mine, Slate quarry in Corris Uchaf, Wales.
The mine extends through a network of underground chambers connected by tramways, reflecting traditional Welsh mining engineering methods.
Established in 1787 by David Williams through a lease from the Vane Estate, the quarry operated continuously until its closure in 1970.
The mine employed over 350 workers during its peak in the 1890s, forming the economic backbone of the Corris community.
The underground chambers remain accessible through guided tours, allowing visitors to explore the preserved mining equipment and artifacts.
The quarry produced specialized black-coated electrical switchboards alongside traditional roofing slates during its operational period.
