Kis-Hárs Hill

Kis-Hárs Hill is a summit in the Buda Hills range that rises above Budapest's northwestern residential areas. Its elevated position offers wide views over the city and surrounding forested slopes.

The hill served as a key reference point for mapping and surveying Budapest during the 1800s. Its precise geographic location became essential data for modern city planning efforts.

At the summit stands a spiral-shaped iron and wood structure designed by architect Imre Makovecz. The building creates an unusual focal point that draws the eye and invites visitors to pause.

The summit is reachable through several hiking routes, with the Hűvösvölgy approach being the most direct. Wear sturdy footwear since the paths climb steeply and can be narrow in places.

On clear days, the panorama stretches to include northern Buda, the Danube, and distant plains beyond the city. This wide-open view makes it a favorite spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts.
