St. Molua's Church, Medieval church and national monument in Killaloe, Ireland.
The limestone building contains a nave and narrow chancel, with a stone roof construction representing early medieval Irish ecclesiastical architecture.
Originally built on Friar's Island around 1000 CE during Brian Boru's time, the church was moved stone by stone to its current location in 1929.
The church bears the name of Saint Molua, a 6th-century monk who established the first Christian settlement in the area of present-day Killaloe.
Visitors can find the relocated church within the grounds of Killaloe Cathedral, where it stands as a testament to early Irish church construction methods.
The structure features one of Ireland's earliest stone roofs, differing from contemporary churches that typically used wooden roof constructions.
