ThiruVaragunamangai Perumal Temple, Hindu temple in Tuticorin district, Tamil Nadu, India.

ThiruVaragunamangai Perumal Temple is a Hindu shrine in Tamil Nadu distinguished by its grand entrance tower called Vijayagodi vimana. Inside, the main deity Vijayasanapperumal faces east, shaded by a serpent figure holding a ceremonial umbrella, with a separate shrine dedicated to the goddess Varagunavalli Thayar nearby.

The temple received substantial support from the Chola and Pandya dynasties in earlier centuries, with major architectural additions made later during the Nayak period. These layers of construction shaped the structure visible today.

This sanctuary ranks among the 108 most important pilgrimage sites for Vaishnava followers, where visitors come to hear and recite verses composed by the medieval poet-saint Nammalwar. The place remains active in this spiritual tradition, with worshippers gathering to connect with these ancient words.

The temple grounds feature two sacred water bodies called Aganasa Theertham and Agni Theertham that visitors can explore during regular hours. Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to navigate stairs and uneven surfaces throughout the complex.

The shrine preserves an interesting architectural detail: the main deity occupies a distinctive seated position, while the goddess Varagunavalli Thayar receives worship in her own separate shrine. This arrangement differs from how many other temples in the area organize their sacred spaces.
