Our Lady of Snows is a Gothic Revival church in Kallikulam featuring pointed arches, soaring spires, and buttresses throughout its design. These structural elements create the building's distinctive silhouette and interior proportions.
A thatched church was built by local villagers in 1770 as the initial place of worship. A more substantial stone structure replaced it in 1886 with assistance from Jesuit missionaries.
The annual feast from late July to early August brings Catholic communities from surrounding regions together for religious celebrations and shared worship.
The church welcomes visitors year-round with daily services held in Tamil. The first Saturday of each month features special observances that draw additional worshippers.
Six young people reported witnessing an apparition of Mother Mary on a nearby hill in 1939. This event continues to be mentioned by visitors and reinforces the site's spiritual significance.
