Thamaraikulam Pathi

Thamaraikulam Pathi is a religious shrine in Swamithope with a central Palliyarai sanctuary surrounded by an inner corridor for ritual circumambulation and a prayer hall at the front. The structure displays traditional architectural design and spatial arrangement created to support worship and religious gatherings.

This site gained prominence as the birthplace of Ari Gopalan Citar, who composed the religious text Akilathirattu Ammanai here. That connection to the author has made it significant for local spiritual and literary tradition.

The shrine is located roughly 8 kilometers southeast of Nagercoil and 7 kilometers northwest of Kanyakumari, with regular bus services connecting it to both cities.
