Mutta Pathi, Sacred Ayyavazhi temple in Tamil Nadu, India.
Mutta Pathi is one of the five primary worship centers of the Ayyavazhi faith, located about 3 kilometers north of Kanyakumari in southern India. The temple draws followers from across the region who come to pray and participate in religious ceremonies.
The site emerged as a center for the Ayyavazhi faith and grew to become important to followers in Tamil Nadu. It became a place where the spiritual practices of this religious community took root and developed over time.
Seven hundred families established a community near the temple, adopting vegetarian practices and maintaining daily religious ceremonies known as Panividai.
The temple is accessible by public transport, with regular bus connections linking it to nearby Nagercoil and Kanyakumari. Visitors from surrounding areas can reach it fairly easily for a day visit or short stay.
The temple's origins are linked to an unusual event when coconuts fell spontaneously from a tree during prayer. This convinced the original landowner that the site was meant for religious purposes, leading him to donate the property for the temple.
