Bijethua Mahavir

Bijethua Mahavir is a Hindu temple in Uttar Pradesh built with traditional architectural style, featuring many bells that worshippers have hung throughout its interior. The structure displays the classic religious design elements typical of such places of devotion.

According to ancient Ramayana texts, the site holds importance as the place where the deity Hanuman fought against the demon Kaalnemi. This legendary battle became a defining moment that established the shrine's spiritual significance and drew pilgrims over time.

The temple draws worshippers on Tuesdays and Saturdays, when people bring flowers and fruits to offer at the altar while reciting prayers. This regular pattern of visits shows how deeply Hanuman's devotion is woven into the daily rhythm of the local community.

The shrine sits about 50 kilometers from Sultanpur city center and is reachable by state buses, private vehicles, and flights via Prayagraj airport. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and prepare for uneven ground, especially during the rainy season.

The shrine contains Makarikund, a sacred pond where Hanuman is said to have bathed after his battle. Locals also share an unusual detail: one foot of the deity reportedly extends deep into the ground beneath the temple.
