Sheetala Chaukia Dham Mandir Jaunpur

The temple complex features traditional Hindu architectural elements with detailed stone carvings and sacred idol representations of Goddess Sheetala.

The temple origins trace back to ancient times when the Bhar community, non-Aryan rulers of Jaunpur, established it as a center of Shiv and Shakti worship.

Mondays and Fridays draw numerous worshippers to the temple, where they perform religious ceremonies and offer prayers to Goddess Sheetala for protection against diseases.

The temple stands 8 kilometers from Jaunpur City railway station, with local transportation available, and 50 kilometers from Lal Bahadur Shastri Babatpur airport.

According to regional beliefs, the temple received its name from the elevated platform called chaukiya where the deity was initially installed.
