Amreshwar Dham

Amreshwar Dham, Hindu temple complex near Khunti, India

Amreshwar Dham is a temple complex near Khunti with multiple shrines honoring different deities. The main sanctuary is dedicated to Shiva, while additional structures within the grounds serve devotees of Ganesha, Rama, Sita, and Hanuman.

The complex received its current name in 1985 when Sage Shankaracharya Swami Swarupananda Saraswati designated the site. This formal recognition marked an important moment in the establishment of the location as a spiritual center.

The name combines Amera, meaning honey, with Ishwar, meaning God, reflecting a sweet connection between the divine and nature. Visitors experience this reverence in daily rituals and prayers offered throughout the complex.

The site is roughly 45 kilometers from Ranchi and accessible via National Highway 20. The area becomes very hot from March through June, and heavy rainfall occurs during the monsoon season from June through September.

The main shrine contains a Shivlingam that formed naturally within the trunk of an established mango tree. Local residents view this as self-manifested, emphasizing the deep connection between nature and spirituality at this location.
