Amreshwar Dham, Hindu temple complex near Khunti, India
The Amreshwar Dham temple features a main Shiva shrine with a Shivlingam positioned within a hollow space of a mango tree.
The temple site received its current name in 1985 when Sage Shankaracharya Swami Swarupananda Saraswati designated it as Amreshwar Dham.
During the month of Shrawan, devotees walk barefoot from Ranchi carrying water from Swarnarekha River to offer it at the Shivlingam.
Located 45 kilometers from Ranchi on National Highway 20, the temple complex includes additional shrines dedicated to Ganesha, Rama, Sita, and Hanuman.
The temple houses a Shivlingam that local residents consider self-manifested, emerging naturally within the trunk of an established mango tree.
