Chauth Mata Temple

Chauth Mata Temple is a place of worship on a hilltop in Chauth Ka Barwara, Rajasthan, requiring visitors to climb roughly 700 steps to reach its entrance. The interior features marble finishes and ornamental tilework decorated with religious patterns.

The temple was built in 1942 by Maharaja Bhim Singh, who brought the main deity idol from Pachala village to this hilltop location. This establishment made the site an important religious center for the surrounding communities.

The temple is dedicated to Chauth Mata, the protective deity historically honored by the ruling family of this region. Alongside the main goddess, visitors find shrines honoring Ganesha and Bhairav, which together form the spiritual focus of the site.

The temple is located in a hilly area and is reachable by road, though it sits some distance from major railway stations and urban centers. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes, as the many steps to reach the top require physical effort.

Every year during the month of Magha, a major festival takes place here, drawing thousands of devotees to participate in religious ceremonies and celebrations. This 15-day fair is one of the most important religious events in the region's calendar.
