National Car Museum of Iran, Automobile museum in District 21, Tehran, Iran
The National Car Museum of Iran displays more than 100 vehicles across multiple halls, including classic and modern automobiles from Iranian manufacturers as well as international models. The collection documents the evolution of automobile production from its beginning to today.
The museum first opened on May 19, 2003, and later underwent major renovations to update its spaces. It reopened to the public on October 23, 2021, after these improvements were completed.
The collection shows vehicles developed over decades in Iran, representing different phases of the country's technological progress. You can see how automobile manufacturing shaped the nation's industrial identity.
The facility is easy to navigate, and information panels throughout are displayed in multiple languages to help you find your way. The exhibition is organized in separate halls, so you can spend as much or as little time as you need exploring.
The collection includes rare vehicles from Iranian manufacturers alongside international models, showing how domestic production started and developed. Such comparisons between locally made and foreign cars are rarely shown in detail elsewhere.
