Castel di Luco, Medieval castle in Acquasanta Terme, Italy.

The octagonal fortress rises on a travertine rock spur, featuring an unusual elliptical structure with defensive walls surrounding its perimeter.

From 1400 to 1800, the Ciucci family owned the castle, transforming it from a military stronghold into a noble residence over generations.

The castle served as a justice court and military center during the Byzantine reorganization of Italy, marking its role in regional administration.

Following earthquake restoration work completed in 2024, the castle now functions as an accommodation facility with standard rooms, suites, and meeting spaces.

The fortress maintains observation points made of travertine stone around its perimeter, which were used for monitoring enemy movements while staying protected.
