The Santi Giuseppe e Leopoldo church features a Neoclassical architectural design with a single nave, an apse, and a wooden truss ceiling.
Grand Duke Leopold II commissioned the construction of this church in 1851, and Abbot Quirino Bussotti dedicated it in 1855.
The interior decoration includes notable works by Empoli painter Vincenzo Lami, who created a Crucifixion painting using a minimal color palette.
The church contains an electric pipe organ installed in 1958, featuring 28 registers and a mobile console with two manuals and a pedal.
Between 1912 and 1915, the church expanded with additional chapels and absidi under Monsignor Angelo Gennai's supervision to accommodate population growth.
