Santa Maria della Pietà

The church features a Greek cross layout with a central dome supported by a drum adorned with eight oculi and six ribs.

Vittorio Ghiberti and Ranieri da Tripalle completed the construction of Santa Maria della Pietà in 1492, marking a new era in local religious architecture.

The interior houses a 14th-century Florentine tempera painting of the Pietà on the main altar, accompanied by 17th-century marble furnishings.

The church contains three stone portals with Latin inscriptions on their architraves, providing visitors with spiritual messages about the sacred nature of the space.

The exterior walls remain completely unplastered, displaying the original brick construction and featuring two rectangular plates with the Bibbona municipal coat of arms.
