Castello Pasquini, Gothic Revival castle in Castiglioncello, Italy.
Castello Pasquini is a Gothic Revival castle that rises above the town center with merlons, towers, and a circular basement chapel as its main architectural features. The building stands within a surrounding Romantic-style park that contains pathways connecting different architectural elements throughout the grounds.
Baron Lazzaro Patrone commissioned the castle in 1889 on land purchased from Diego Martelli, whose financial circumstances forced him to sell his estate at that time. This construction marked an important moment in the 19th-century development of Castiglioncello as a coastal community.
The castle now houses the headquarters of Armunia, an organization that coordinates theater and dance performances throughout the region under the municipality's management. This cultural center remains an active hub for artistic events and regional creative initiatives.
The castle sits near the railway station, making it convenient to reach when arriving by train or exploring from the town center. The surrounding park provides natural pathways for walking and exploring the grounds at a comfortable pace.
The baron intentionally shaped the design of the railway station in Castiglioncello to match the castle's style and create visual harmony throughout the town. This rare coordination between a private monument and public infrastructure remains visibly evident in the townscape today.
