Castello Passerin d'Entreves, Medieval castle in Saint-Christophe, Italy
Castello Passerin d'Entreves is a medieval castle in Saint-Christophe, Aosta Valley, situated on a hillside surrounded by vineyards and orchards. The property operates as a private residence today and remains closed to public visitors.
The castle was originally built and held by the Sorreley family in the 16th century. After the execution of Andre De Plead in 1723, the property passed to the Passerin d'Escalier family.
The castle houses a collection of art objects, including pewter items and furniture crafted from local walnut using traditional regional techniques. These pieces reflect the local craftsmanship traditions that have been maintained through generations.
Since the castle is privately owned and used as a residence, public access to the grounds and interior is not permitted. Visitors can view the structure from outside but should respect the privacy of the residents.
The structure features a circular tower that houses a family chapel on its southern side. This distinctive tower is characteristic of Aosta Valley architecture and defines the castle's appearance.
