Punta Ferraione Lighthouse

Punta Ferraione Lighthouse is a navigation aid on Capraia Isola consisting of a white quadrangular tower with an attached two-story keeper's residence at its base. The facility sits on elevated terrain overlooking the waters and serves as an active beacon for maritime traffic in the Tuscan Archipelago region.

The lighthouse was established in 1868 to guide ships through the waters surrounding Capraia. A major renovation in 1908 modernized the facility to improve its effectiveness for maritime safety in the region.

The lighthouse forms part of the island's maritime identity and serves as a visual landmark that connects visitors to the region's seafaring past. Its white structure has become a symbol of the island's relationship with the sea and the waters around it.

The site is best reached on foot via a path from the harbor or nearby village areas of the island. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for uneven ground as the access to the lighthouse is partially rocky.
