The Tomimoto Kenkichi Memorial Museum displays a collection of ceramic masterworks, including porcelain vessels with colored decorations and traditional pottery designs.
The museum opened in November 1974 in the former residence of Kenkichi Tomimoto, featuring three additional buildings from the Edo and Taisho periods.
The institution preserves the legacy of Kenkichi Tomimoto, who revolutionized Japanese ceramics by combining traditional techniques with modern artistic expressions.
The museum collection included 500 ceramic pieces, with 150 items regularly exhibited in rotation before its transformation into a hotel in 2017.
Following its closure in 2014, the museum buildings were converted into 'Ubusuna no Sato Tomimoto', a hotel with an integrated restaurant, workshop, and gallery.
