The Suigo Sawara Ayame Park spans 8 hectares of land featuring a network of islands, bridges, and water surfaces that display numerous iris varieties.
Established in 1969 within the Suigo-Tsukuba National Park, this garden transformed from a basic aquatic plant facility into a specialized iris cultivation center.
The annual Iris Festival in June presents 1.5 million flowers from 400 varieties, including Edo, Higo, and Ise species, attracting visitors nationwide.
The garden operates from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 to 16:30, with extended hours during June, and provides parking space for 500 vehicles at no cost.
The park maintains over 300 lotus varieties that bloom from July to August, creating a distinct botanical display during the dedicated Lotus Festival.
