Pacific Century Place Marunouchi, Commercial skyscraper in Marunouchi, Japan
Pacific Century Place Marunouchi is a 32-story office tower next to Tokyo Station, standing about 150 meters tall. The building combines office floors, a luxury hotel, and retail shops, with office spaces that have no interior columns to allow open layouts.
The project was developed by Pacific Century Group in the late 1990s and opened in 2001. Its construction marked an important phase in modernizing the Marunouchi district next to the station.
The building houses the Four Seasons Hotel Marunouchi Tokyo and the Gran Age shopping facility, with direct connections to the Railway Station Building. This mix of luxury hotel and retail spaces shows how the city brings together work, shopping, and travel in one place.
The building sits directly next to Tokyo Station and is easy to reach on foot. The connection to the Station Building allows simple access from the train platforms.
The building's window blinds are centrally controlled and function as smart information displays. This system also helps save energy by managing heat throughout the day.
