Gransta, Shopping complex in Tokyo Station, Japan
Gransta is an eki-naka shopping complex inside Tokyo Station, spread across multiple levels and zones with shops selling fashion, food, and regional goods. The complex is divided into named sections, including Gransta Yaekita and Gransta Marunouchi, each with its own layout and product focus.
Gransta opened in 2007 and changed the way Tokyo Station was used by passengers beyond just catching trains. The complex has grown over the years through expansions that added new sections and connected previously separate parts of the station.
The Nomono section gathers food and regional products from across Japan, including seasonal goods that change throughout the year. It is a rare spot where you can pick up local items from faraway prefectures without leaving the station.
Some sections are located inside the ticket gates and require a valid rail pass or IC card to enter, while others are freely accessible from outside. It is worth checking which section you need before heading in, as each area has a different layout and entrance point.
Although the whole complex sits within the same station, its separate sections operate on independent schedules, meaning one area can be closed while another is still open. This is worth keeping in mind if you arrive early in the morning or late at night.
