Kudan Kaikan, Theatre building in Chiyoda, Japan
Kudan Kaikan is a multi-story event building in Chiyoda, Tokyo, that combines conference halls and office spaces under a tiled roof. The complex extends across several levels with tall halls in the upper section.
The hall was built in 1934 for military personnel and served as accommodation for the Allies after the war. Later, the use changed completely into a public event venue.
The hall comes from a time when Japan combined traditional roofs with modern concrete. This style shows how architects then transferred national elements into new building forms.
The place sits just one walking minute from Kudanshita Station and opens daily during business hours. The rooms spread across different floors reachable by elevators.
The original building fabric from 1934 was integrated into a complex with modern office floors. This connection extends across three underground stories and 17 floors upward.
