Palazzo Campana

Palazzo Campana is a palace in Osimo featuring white stone moldings and broken pediments on its facade in the style of the 17th century. The structure includes rooms with historical furnishings and an underground gallery system that forms part of the complex.

The palace was built as a residence for Marquis Federico Campana, a commissioner of the Papal Cavalry. After his death in the early 18th century, the building was transformed into an educational institution according to his wishes.

The library here holds rare manuscripts dating from the 14th to 20th centuries, including illuminated works and maps by famous cartographers. This collection reflects the scholarly tradition that the Campana family maintained within these walls.

The palace is open to visitors from Monday to Friday between September and July, with no entrance fee required. It is recommended to reserve in advance to ensure a guided tour is available.

The underground galleries within the palace contain numerous sandstone figures carved during the 18th and 19th centuries that reinforce the building's foundation. These hidden chambers were part of an older underground network that predated the modern structure.
