Miyazaki Prefectural Office Building

The Miyazaki Prefectural Office Building features ornate decorations, round stained-glass windows, and a grand boulevard lined with camphor trees along its perimeter.

Constructed in 1932, this government building stands as the fourth oldest prefectural office in Japan and remains the sole pre-war administrative structure in Kyushu.

The building, registered as a national tangible cultural property, incorporates European castle and church design elements while maintaining Japanese administrative functionality.

Visitors can access free guided tours of the building on scheduled days, including the first and third Wednesdays, fourth Fridays, and first Sunday of each month.

The facility houses the Miyazaki Products Shop KONNE, which presents local foods and traditional crafts from throughout the prefecture under one roof.
