Natsukawa Castle, Feudal castle in Kita-ku Kibi, Japan.
Natsukawa Castle stands with stone walls reaching 4 meters high on its western side, while earthen ramparts protect the eastern perimeter of the fortification.
Founded by Mimura Iechika in 1559, this castle served as one of seven frontier fortifications used by the Mori Clan during the Siege of Bitchu-Takamatsu Castle.
The castle incorporates traditional Japanese military architecture, featuring Nozurazumi style stone walls and a northwestern turret foundation that exemplifies period construction methods.
Visitors can reach the castle ruins by taking a 10-minute walk from JR Niwase Station, with the complete site exploration requiring approximately 30 minutes.
The castle's main bailey measures 77 meters east to west and 57 meters north to south, utilizing surrounding streams and marshes as natural defensive water moats.
