Jōkōmyō-ji

The temple features a main hall with statues of Amida Buddha and contains multiple wooden sculptures from the medieval Kamakura period.

Established in 1251 by Hōjō Tokiyori and Hōjō Nagatoki, the temple served as a meditation site for Ashikaga Takauji before his rebellion against Emperor Go-Daigo.

The temple houses a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, the Amida Triad statue, which demonstrates the sophisticated carving techniques of Kamakura sculptors.

The temple opens for visits on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, with an entrance fee of 300 yen for adults and 100 yen for students.

The temple grounds contain a stone Jizo statue called Amihiki Jizo, which according to local tales was discovered in a fishing net at Yuigahama beach.
