窓月山浄見寺, Buddhist temple in Chigasaki, Japan
This Buddhist temple features 58 grave markers arranged in neat rows, surrounded by evergreen trees and traditional Japanese garden elements.
The temple was established in 1611 by Tadamasa Okoa, the second head of the Okoa family, to honor his father Tadakatsu's memory.
The temple houses a copper statue of the six-armed Benzaiten from the Muromachi period, which became a focal point of local worship.
Visitors can access the temple grounds daily to explore the historic cemetery, containing 13 generations of the Okoa family monuments.
The temple grounds contain a rare ginkgo tree variant, first discovered in Kanagawa Prefecture, where nuts grow directly on the leaves.
